SO WHAT WOULD A “GRAND PLAN” LOOK LIKE FOR YOUR CHILD
USING
THE STANDARD DEVIANTS AND REA CLEP PREP BOOKS TO
CLEP AND
“DOUBLE CREDIT” THE HIGH SCHOOL SUBJECTS?
In a recent eNewsletter, we went into a lot of detail about how you can use the videos
and DVDs from Cerebellum’s Standard Deviants and REA CLEP Prep Books to prepare
for taking CLEP tests.
You still may be a bit confused about how this would work.
We also have tried to encourage you to consider our Grand Plan idea and put together
one using our Christian Homeschool Student Planner. Since the new Planners will be
out later this month, now's the perfect time to explain how they may be very useful to
you and your student(s).
Well now we want to give you an example for illustration purposes to show what might
work for your student(s).
At least it will show you how one might be laid out.
Imagine that you have a rather bright 12 year old who you think is ready to take on high
school early. Nothing is holding him or her back. You get every indicator that the student
wants to do this. So how would you map out a Grand Plan for your child?
Well why don’t we just make one up? Take a look at it and see if you think it makes sense.
It is meant to just be a template. If you want to make one up that uses just one piece of this
one, or changes it in some significant way, do it. This is just an example meant to help you
figure out what will work in your case.
We have a whole bunch of information in our Parent’s
Guide to the Christian Homeschool
Planner that will help you with this process. And in the Christian Homeschool Student Planner
there is a working copy of this template as well, for you to fill in for each individual child who has
a Planner of his or her own.
[Planners will be available soon . . . we promise! Keep checking at www.davidandlaurie.com.]
Just keep in mind that this is just a system to help get organized. It provides motivation by
showing the child what the road ahead looks like. Each child will respond differently.
But as the proverb says, “Without a vision, the people perish.” Having a vision will help to
give motivation to your student(s). We believe that even the naturally lethargic child will be
more motivated with this Grand Plan than without it. And those who are exceptionally
motivated will “run with it.” We know this from personal experience.
Good learning! And good CLEPping!
