RESULTS ARE COMING IN!
Here are some of the responses we have received so far from students who have taken our CLEP Prep Classes and then took the respective CLEP test:
Elkhart, Indiana
May, 2003
Dear Callihans,
Just a quick note to thank you for the clep classes that you offered to our son in Elkart,IN. I wanted to report that he successfully passed the biology clep exam this week and received 6 college credits. He also took Algebra the same day and passed that also. We are grateful for the information that we received, and for the positive outcome. He did spend time studying for the biology portion of the exam, and he also took Jay Wiles biology course last year which was helpful. He appreciated the materials given to him at the class, especially the sample tests. We are looking forward to seeing you this fall.
In Christ's love,
KB and MB
Another student in Elkhart informed us that he passed the U.S. History 1 exam with 90 percent correct, and Biology
with 80 percent correct . . . and he only did one practice test in preparation for the Biology exam (which we
do NOT recommend).
One of the newest notes we received was from a student who took our Introductory
Psychology CLEP Prep in New York late last summer. The letter speaks for itself:
Ilion, New York

Dave and Laurie,
I have a unique story to tell you about my CLEP experience. Last
Thursday, I went to take my CLEP test at the scheduled time. Somehow, the
test administrater picked the wrong test for me to take. I didn't realize
it was different, because it sounded so similar.
I took the Introduction to Educational Psychology instead of the basic Introduction to Psychology test. I passed with a 63 on this test that I didn't study for and it will count because I want to go into Education.
It really wasn't very hard and most of it was very similar. So, today I
went back to take the Introductory Psychology test and passed with a 67.
My mom was really surprised I did so well on the Educational Psychology
test, and excited because I don't think I ever would have taken the CLEP
and gotten the credit any other way. I got 6 credits for only the study
of the stuff we got from you, a student handbook and Clep official guide.

We also had another student write who passed the Introductory Psychology CLEP after taking our class. He is 14. Here's what his mom had to say:
Cortland, New York
April, 2003
"Our son just called home after taking the Psych CLEP test. He passed with a 62 [Editor's
note: Out of 80]. Needless to say, we're thrilled that you started us on this route. He's planning to study Sociology next fall so that he can CLEP that and possibly some others. Thanks for the time and energy you put into the class and the confidence boost this has given us.

This is the letter we received from Verity Education after teaching the Natural Science class during the week of February 17-21. 34 out of 43 students passed this test after just one additional week of study:
Flint, Michigan
"February, 2003
"Dear David and Laurie,
"Thank you so much for coming to Verity! Your time and talent were very much appreciated.
Your skills in both science and teaching were a great blessing to us all, and your devotionals
each morning were especially appreciated.
"We would love to have you back to teach Natural Science for our next class. We are also looking into different classes and workshops that you could teach.
"May the Lord bless your endeavors as you continue to faithfully serve Him.
"Sincerely,

[Note: Fifty percent of the material in the Natural Science CLEP is Biology; and several of
the students in this class also took the Biology CLEP and passed it too!]
And here's a letter from a Verity student who took one of our CLEP Prep classes that week:
"I wanted to let you know that I passed my Natural Sciences exam this afternoon with a 69!
[NOTE: 50 is passing! The highest score is 80.] It is such a relief to have it done. My test
seemed to focus a lot on Chemistry and Physics with little reference to cells (but I felt like
I knew the cells anyway!) For about 20 questions I relied on "life learning"--random facts I
learned over the last 20 years! But it was so neat to be able to recall those little details
that I haven't considered in ages!
"I am so grateful that you came to Verity last
week. Thanks for investing your time in our
lives! May the Lord bless you.

In Spring, 2005, David travelled to Savannah, Georgia and taught an Intense College Algebra Prep class to 24 homeschoolers over 3 days. Here's what one homeschooling mom shared with us in a letter shortly afterwards:
"Subject: Algebra CLEP test
"Date: Wed, 20 Apr 2005 17:40:57 -0400
"After taking the review class plus one week of studying the guidebook, Petra passed the CLEP test for college algebra today. She is eligible for 3 hours of college credit. She scored much better on the real test than she had on the practice tests.

Here again is the information about these college prep classes:
CLEP tests are a great opportunity for your junior high and high school students to validate their transcript by receiving college credit. They will also be able to save time and money. David and Laurie's daughter saved $15,000 in college tuition. How did she do this? Click here to find out!
The classes are offered in three day sessions. They help prepare students to take the CLEP tests.
Normally, the first session is from 9-12 each morning, and then after a thirty minute or hour lunch break, the second session is from 1-4. These are normally two separate classes. Students can sign up for one or both (these classes are open to all students, homeschoolers or institutionally-educated students). Your student does not need to have studied these subjects before coming. If they are capable of learning these subjects they can benefit from these classes in most cases. Click here to sign up.
You will need to bring pencil and paper (in a three-ring binder would be best).
David and Laurie will also be available to speak at parent's workshops in the evenings. Click here for more information.
Please read this article written by David and Laurie Callihan for more details about the classes.
